Run. Don’t walk. RUN and go watch Iron Man.
Fucking awesome. Totally fucking awesome. I can’t even use a normal adjective it was so good.
The added benefit of Robert Downey Jr. in tank tops has NOTHING to do with my opinion. Nothing at all.
Even Gwenyth Paltrow seemed to be acting instead of moping. And I can’t stand her…
oh so good….
oh I so want to see this one!
I love Robert Downey Jr. so much
I need a babysitter!!
I envy you.
Hawk wants to take Zoe. What’s objectionable for a four year old who loves superheroes and LOTR? Is there gore?
Don’t take Zoe. We thought about taking vivian, but she got freaked at the trailer. The robots are fairly scary, and there’s a scene where a father is being beaten, stompted and about to be killed in front of his kids-the 4 year olds in the audience were crying about then if I recall correctly. I know it’s PG, but it’s a bit much.
Then again, didn’t Zoe sit through Spiderman 3, with Venom and all?
You’re the second blogger who’s said that today. That’s a good enough endorsement for me to want to see it, but I’ve been to the movies once in 10 years, so I may have to wait for the DVD.
yeah, it was well done, and RD jr is so fun to watch, but seriously, any female character was either 1. a stripper flight attendant, 2. a subservient, often airheaded, annoyance, 3. a soldier(the one with the guts to speak – ok, maybe we are on the right track! – welp, no…), who was subjected to sexist remarks when her gender was revealed and 4. a screaming minivan driving mom.
i know, i know, it is a comic book movie, not a feminist film. but still, would it be soooo hard to find a balance? i guess that is my point – does it have to be a feminist film in order to depict women as, you know, real people?
Yeah she adores Spidey 3, Fantastic 4, all three LOTR (she laughs at Gollum to this day). She did well w/ Narnia the other night & was only sad about Aslan dying. We took her to see Harry Potter 5 last summer & she did very well (she loves the other HP movies, which are also a bit scary and dark). She watches Star Wars (all 6) with no problems except that she has some trouble connecting Anakin and Darth Vader (I’m like we all do). Oh and she likes Jack Sparrow but I don’t let her watch the opening scene of #3.
If we prepare her for what she’s going to see (happy, scary, loud, whatever), she does very well. She’s most concerned about animals being injured and I’m most concerned about graphic violence.
Oh and her Venom imitation is hilarious. She does the low screech then bangs her hand on her head and pretends to be off balance and screeches again. I’d post a video but Marvel might sue me.
jenna – Tony Stark is a PLAYER. a PLAYBOY even. that’s the character. that type of character, regardless of the type of movie, generally wouldn’t surround himself with feminists. context, context, context.
We snuck out last night after the kids were asleep ( grandma was home with them !) and saw it. It was so freaking good ! I was telling people all day today at work that they should go see it !
It did completely rock. 🙂
Zoe loved it 😉
Awesome!
