Have you read this? You should…I kept putting it off and finally picked it up last week in Nashville. (At the snooty bookstore no less!)

What’s almost startling about this book is the lack of blame…or hate. I’d really hate my parents, but there’s an almost mute acceptance about the circumstance…..
I’ve been sucked into the vortex of this book, and while I know it’s been out for a few years, I just needed to mention how bloody good it is.
Spin Me I Pulsate 
It’s been on my reading list for a while. The reaction to it kind of makes me think… Dorothy Allison? She’s been through hell and back, and doesn’t lose her sense of self.
i read this last year, and was also stunned, both by what she lived through, and by her ability to forgive.
I loved how she retold her story with the perspective of a child, instead of the insight of an adult. That had to be a hard voice to find.
But it made me wonder how much therapy she’s had. Or, I guess, how you are the kind of person who can just let that go.
This is one of my all-time favorites!! If you like this one, you would also love Blackbird by Jennifer Lauk and also Liar’s Club by Mary Karr if you haven’t read them. All three books completely sucked me in.
I read it recently too. It took my breath away more than once.
My mom gave me this book, and I haven’t read it yet. I’ll put it on my nightstand to read as soon as I’m done with my current book though. I’ve been having a tough time finding really good books lately, so I’m happy to see all the good reviews despite the tough subject matter.
it’s depressing, but somehow you aren’t left feeling shitty. I mean, why hate her parents if she doesn’t? It’s well written-very easy read.
