The mental health system will drive you crazy

19 Sep

My first follow up appointment since being in the hospital is next week. Or is was. Is.

Mogo gets a call at home saying it’s today. Today? No…..I called a month or so ago asking about getting an earlier appointment-they tell me all they had was 9/19. I turn it down, saying, what’s a week?

So I’m confused but figure, well, ok. I arrange things work wise to accommodate it.

Then he gets another call saying no, wait, the doctor won’t be in. So I have to call and reschdule.

If you’re following, I have to call and get a new appointment to replace the one they changed without my saying yes in the first place.

I call and explain the situation, also explaining that I’m on my last refill and I NEED to see the doctor. She offers an appointment on Oct 3. I’ll either be out of the country, or at the very least, unable to accept the time. Then she says November 7.

I very nearly started to cry. What the hell? How can I be expected to wait another month? They want me to stay normal through this?!?!

Finally, she decides to bump the person who took my original appointment on the 26th, you know, the one the other receptionist fucked me out of?

How in the HELL are crazy people supposed to get any help?!

sigh.

At least it makes you feel sane by comparison. Or if not it should.
