uh hrm…

21 Jun

All of a sudden today I’ve been getting an assload of hits on my “29 Things” page, and it’s freaking me out, since it’s rarely accessed. So I’ve passworded the sucker, unless someone can set my mind at ease about the whole thing….cause it’s creeping me out. It could be very innocent, yet weird…

Sudden jumps in traffic on weird posts make me weird. Reassure me if there’s just new people around…

ETA-I feel like a total paranoid freak-should I be paranoid? It’s just weird for that to get any hits really-and there’s no clear referrer, which really makes me twitchy…

that does indeed sound weird, but what exactly is an assload? i’ve been having a few more clicks on my “about my blog” page that has hardly been visited at all before, but i think that’s because of this “5 things meme” that brings a lot of new people in for at least one look.
is there something visible in the search engine terms? or has someone linked do it? no, you should be able to see that and you said there’s no clear referrer.
hm, no idea. the only suggestion i have is that it’s this “5 things meme”.

Well I hit it the other day when I was reading other archived stuff on your blog. I am a new reader and I was jumping around different parts of the site just getting a feel for the writing.
Didn’t you do a shout out for people to go to your Work It Mom essay? I know Jen Creer did an email about the essays to a bunch of people. It’s possible some people over there are reading your essay and then coming here to check you out. I’m betting that’s what a good bit of your traffic is coming from.
That’s how I got over her myself! 🙂

    AH! That must be it.

I just started worrying that someone from work found me!

I de passworded it once I reminded myself I was being a moron.

I don’t think “moron” is the right word!! Just “careful and curious”. We all have those days where we think “what the hell??” and freak ourselves right out. 🙂

Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you….

    I totally feel you dude.
