So….

8 Jan

let’s say I might be getting a work trip to Tennessee in the next week or so. Let’s also say that I’d like to do some shopping, and I’m “bigger” boned, and need some advice. i also have 11W feet, and would like some new pretty CHEAP shoes.

Come on girls. I’ll have limited time, and limited funds, but i need SOMETHING new clothing wise. Help a chick out.

Payless goes up to size 12, so you could be in luck there.

    I don’t suppose there’s an H&M in Backwoods Canada?

How about Old Navy? They have some nice things in the more generous sizes, and they aren’t too expensive. And don’t count out the Winners. You can get some nice things at the fashion graveyard for a fair price.

    Driving or flying?

Anna had huge feet. We shared shoes. She ordered from the Wissota Trader catalog. And a few others. If you want the names, let me know.

I usually get my shoes from Zappos.com, but they don’t ship outside the continental US, iirc. I’m not sure how far from the border you are, but if you have someone to ship to on the other side, it might work. Called my aunt in NH (who wears a 12w), but she says she does Zappos too.

I know it’s unlikely you’re going to be driving down, since I live 5 hours from the Tricities area, and about 13 hours with no stops/no rush hour traffic to just over the NB border. But if you are driving and you’re passing through the DC metro area, you can ship them to my house and pick them up on the way down.

I’m flying, if I can book the flight right (trying to get myself a layover to visit a friend in T.O).

I’ve heard about Zappos, but my feet are so odd, I’m hesitant to try. We’ll see.

I order everything from Eddie Bauer because I’m tall enough to also need tall tops. Their outlets have amazing deals, so it could be worth checking. Torrid also has fun stuff in bigger sizes–maybe check and see if there is a store where you;re headed? Aside from that, there is always Lane Bryant, The Avenue, etc. I’m not really fond of either since they carry a lot of weird hootchie mama crap, but you can sometimes find good, inexpensive basics.

I have size 11 feet, but normal width. I can find shoes pretty easily here in Boston, but am not sure if that holds true for other parts of the country. I do know a lot of manufacturers are selling up to 12s now.

And I’ve had really good luck with Zappos in the past.

Where are you flying in at? I’m located just outside Nashville. Of course there are several Malls you can go to. Opry Mills is the newest and its close to the Opryland Hotel, great for visiting, beautiful.

I have a hard time finding 9W shoes that are reasonably cute and comfy, which is why the majority of my shoes are made by Birkenstock. Although I do love Land’s End.

I would definately hit the outlet malls, if you can.
